Looking for a new job

Looking for a new job

Why is it so hard to find a .NET Developer job in 2025?

Hi all,

Today I want to share with you a shift in my career path.
I have looking for a new job as a .NET Developer but with little success.
This has made me question: What’s happening in the .NET job market?

I have experience in C#, Angular, Entity Framework, and SQL, having worked on both commercial and personal projects. I’ve applied to numerous companies, refined my resume, and gone through several interviews, yet the right opportunity still hasn’t come.

Possible Reasons for the Struggle

  1. Increased Competition
The job market is flooded with skilled .NET developers, making it harder to stand out. Many companies now have stricter hiring processes, favoring candidates with niche expertise or extensive experience in cloud technologies.

  2. Shifting Technology Trends
While .NET remains a strong framework, many companies are moving towards cloud-native architectures, microservices, and serverless computing. Developers proficient in Azure, Kubernetes, and DevOps tools may have an edge.

  3. Market Slowdown or Hiring Freezes
The tech industry has faced hiring slowdowns due to economic uncertainties. Some companies are hesitant to onboard new developers, instead prioritizing cost-cutting measures.

  4. Application and Interview Strategy
Perhaps the challenge isn’t just about demand but also about how I present my skills. Maybe my resume doesn’t highlight key achievements effectively, or I need to improve my technical interview performance.

What’s Next?

I’m reassessing my approach by:

  • Expanding my skill set to include cloud-based .NET development.
  • Refining my resume to better showcase project impact.
  • Networking more actively with industry professionals.

I’d love to hear from other developers and recruiters: What trends do you see in the .NET job market?
What advice would you give to someone struggling to land a role?

t is everything that I have for today.
Everyone is a blacksmith of own fate.
Mateusz.
